Robotics and Programming – 90 minutes, 1 day a week – Students will learn the basics of robotics and programming. All of the programming in this class will involve text based C++ style coding. The majority of this class will be in a virtual simulator while students learn to code. A final project will include working with others to build a robot and a miniature competition.
* Meet your instructor: Mr. Nick Morone
Mr. Morone a student at BGSU studying Biology with a minor in Spanish. He has been doing various forms of robotics and programming for the last 9 years and has attended many different Professional Development classes. He was a VEX Robotics competitor from 2010-2014 and qualified for the world championship, and has been running VEX Robotics camps and competitions since 2014. In 2016-2017, Mr. Morone was the assistant coach for the Toledo Technology Academy robotics team. Last year he led classes for The Home School for The Arts in programming logic and languages. He also led some BiG Idea Maker Clubs.
Duration: Class meets weekly for 13 weeks
PreRequisites: prior coding experience
Age restrictions: students ages 11-14
Supplies needed: spiral notebook, pen/pencil for notetaking
