Mold Making

Saturdays / 8 weeks, October 15 - December 10/ 10:00 - 12:00 with Kirk Mayhew / $250

Sometimes a single object is not enough.  If you have been inspired by an installation artist who has filled a gallery with identical looking art pieces you know what this class is about.  We will look at ceramists who use multiples in their own work to decide what sort of molds we want to create.  Students will then design one or two small objects (8"X8" max) to be molded.  Casting and surfacing techniques will be decided on an individual basis.  Class fee includes access to "plaster-only" tools, metal shimming, and mold-making shelving.  Plaster additional per pound.
