Class Description:
Discover the secrets of Thai cooking in this fun, family-friendly class! While this cuisine is known for its spicy hot peppers, it is a misconception that all Thai food is hot. A typical Thai meal will contain dishes that touch all the primary flavors – salty, sweet, spicy, and sour – that delight every taste bud. By learning what flavor balance a dish should contain and how to attain that balance, you can easily create authentic Thai tastes at home.
Your guide is CCKC Head Instructor and Executive Chef Melissa Houston, who has travelled the globe cooking and teaching for over 30 years. Hailing from the West Coast, Melissa uses her wealth of culinary experience to put her own unique spin on regional and global cuisine that is both healthy and delicious. She’ll teach us the fundamentals of cooking Thai as we practice various cooking methods, learn how to work with Asian chilies to spice it up or take it down, and explore some of the amazing ingredients that go into Thai cooking. Melissa will whip up a Red Curry Chicken Southern-Style to whet the appetite. She’ll also teach us how to make Spring Rolls and a delicious Thai dessert with a kick! And if that isn’t enough, she’ll take the mystery out of preparing that classic noodle dish, Pad Thai. You and your family will get to help prepare some of these interesting dishes and walk away with a new appreciation for Thai food and knowledge you can use in your own kitchen.

- We provide a full refund if you need to cancel more than three weeks prior to the start of a scheduled class. You will receive an Account Credit if you need to cancel at any time within three weeks but prior to the class start time. Please note that any refund issued for classes purchased using a Gift Certificate or Account Credit will result in reinstatement of the original Gift Card or Account Credit and will bear the same expiration date. Account Credits issued for cancelations within three weeks of a class will expire one year from the date of issuance. We reserve the right to cancel a class for any reason, at any time, in which case you will receive a full refund.
- Family Friendly (9+): All ages 9 and up welcome. Each child below the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
- If (a) you’d like to sit with another registered guest, or (b) have any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please let us know in the Comments section of your registration after reading our full description of policies and information about classes. If you've registered with other people on the same order, you will automatically be seated together.
- Your registration tells us that you have read through the class description including the age requirements for that particular class.
- Our Kitchen Shop Experience™ will be open for browsing prior to class, during any breaks, and after class.
