The student will learn about the history and importance of bookmaking as well as completing a hands-on work session in which students will design and create their own book. Your book will be 5" x 7" with 50 blank pages and the cover can be blank, or if time allows, embellished. This project is fantastic for all skill levels and when combined with paper or printmaking can make a unique art object. Supplies will include take home tool kit and literature for supplies and follow up research.

Plan Your Visit
All materials and safety equipment supplied. Students are required to wear closed-toe shoes and long pants to participate, and sturdy footwear (e.g. tennis shoes or boots) is recommended. Natural fiber clothing is recommended (e.g. cotton, denim). Plan to arrive for class about 10-15 min early and check in at the front desk. Our main entrance is on State Street, with parking lot entrance on State St. as well. IF parking and street parking available.
