Beacon resident and world-renowned musician and activist, Pete Seeger, had an enormous influence on the people he met and worked alongside throughout his life. Pete lived to be 94 years old - he would have been 100 years old in the spring. The world continues to display the need for thoughtful solutions and healing.
Songs are often the fire we need to educate communities and ignite people to act.
“Re-Pete” - in honor of Pete Seeger and his commitment to elevate and activate people this choir of young singers will not only learn and discuss some of Pete’s best songs, but also choose songs that address the time in which we live. The choir will perform for their parents around the 6-week midpoint; and then there will be an open concert at the end of the class, along with other opportunities to perform in the community. This group of young singers can continue to perform throughout the Hudson Valley in the Spring as individual schedules allow.
Open to kids and teens, 7 years and up.
