Intro to Painting

In this six-week class, adults will learn the basics of painting with acrylics. They will cover topics such as mixing colors, composition, brushstrokes and texture, while practicing painting a variety of subjects. Students will create three paintings throughout the class: a still life, a landscape, and a figure painting. No painting experience required. Codi Potter's approachable teaching style encourages experimentation while grounding students in solid artistic fundamentals. Ages 18 and up. The cost is $175 for non-members, $145 for members, and includes all materials. Meets Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30 pm, starting January 8.

About the Instructor:
Codi Potter is a passionate and experienced visual artist who specializes in acrylic painting. With over 25 years of practice, she has developed a distinctive style that blends bold colors with technical brush strokes. Codi has participated in various art classes across mediums throughout her life, building her skills and tailoring them into this beginner series.
 
As an educator, Codi has taught acrylic painting at The 567 Center, private events, and a community center with the United States Air Force overseas, helping students of all levels develop their skills in a range of techniques. With a deep commitment to fostering creativity and technical proficiency, she offers a comprehensive painting series designed to guide participants through essential techniques.
