This is a two-session class (the second session will be the following week on the same day/time). In each 2 hour session, students will receive an introduction to and safety training on a variety of basic tools typically used for home and car repairs; direct practice with hand and power tools (nails, screws, bolts, sander, circular saw, etc.); a list of tools from basic, to intermediate, to advanced; a field trip to Lowe's Home Improvement to find, look at, compare, and purchase tools for yourself; and instruction on the proper set up of toolboxes.
Students should bring a pad of paper and pencil, their phone or small camera for recording and pictures. All skill levels welcome! If you have a toolbox already, please bring it.
Participants must wear close toed shoes & have something to put up hair. Please do not wear loose-fitting clothes or jewelry in this class. Please tie hair back. These requirements are for your safety. Hearing protection not required but highly recommended (provided by the Forge). Refunds will not be given for not adhering to these safety requirements.
There is a minimum requirement of 4 people for this class; if the minimum is not met, the class will be canceled. You will be notified 24 hours prior to the class if the minimum is not met. A staff member will reach out the following week to arrange rescheduling, credits or refunds.
