Here in the Central Valley our fruit grows sweet and delicious! At this workshop you will learn the basics of making jam, including a low or no sugar variety and the importance of preserving food safely. We will make strawberry jam two ways that taste so good, you will never want to buy store bought again. Basil is such a logical companion for strawberries. The slightly grassy notes of the basil perfectly compliments the candy-sweet berries. The jalapeno on the other hand, is for adventurous canners and eaters alike. The balance between sweetness and spice is perfect. With savory undertones, this jam is divine with cheese, mind blowing on a burger, or the secret perhaps to the world's greatest peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
