Join Dr. Heath Wilt, practicing cardiologist, avid cook and passionate culinary educator, for this information yet totally fun cooking class on heart-healthy cooking. He’ll show how easy it is to prepare dishes in your home kitchen that will place you well along the path to living a hearty-healthy life without giving up flavor! He’s all over heart-healthy cooking trends such as lower salt cooking, spice options and healthy grain options to replace simple carbs or pastas and he loves to create highly nutritious dishes from scratch utilizing spices and fresh ingredients that can be made in a flash. He believes that eating right is nothing short of culinary medicine. We agree. Tonight, he’ll get to the “heart” of things as he walks you through his tried-and-true dishes and explains how each is designed to positively impact your heart health. He ought to know right? From an appetizer that is a snap to prepare to a fall-Inspired ‘Couscous’ using gluten-free, pasta-free grains, to a whole new and delicious take on ‘kabobs’ and more. He’ll even show you a great dessert substitute that will satisfy that ‘end of meal’ craving. Dr. Wilt will amaze you with his mad cooking skills, nutrition advice and medical knowledge. Bring your questions and prepare to take notes because you’ll get loads of information from this very informed cooking expert who walks the walk and can talk the talk.

Prior to registration, if you or any member of the group for which you are registering is under 18 years of age at the date of the class, please contact The Culinary Center of Kansas City at cook@kcculinary.com or 913-341-4455 to determine whether admittance to class will be allowed. There are certain classes where 14 years and older may attend as long as an adult also attends with them and as long as we have a completed waiver signed by a legal representative for the child. Without prior approval and a properly signed waiver, any registrant who is under 18 years of age will not be allowed to participate in this class.
