Workshop Overview
Join us for an immersive three-day baking workshop designed to hone your skills and deepen your understanding of the baking process. Perfect for beginners and enthusiasts alike, this hands-on experience will cover essential baking concepts and techniques, allowing you to create delicious and impressive baked goods from scratch at home. We will then build on those essential concepts and techniques over the three day class to create baked breads, cookies, and pies that will look and taste amazing.
- Core Concepts: Learn the foundations of baking, including accurate weights and measurements, the baker's percentage, ingredient identification and functions.
- Creations: Over three days, you will bake and assemble a range of recipes, including plated desserts, quick breads, yeasted breads, cookies, dessert bars, and a whole pie with garnishes.
Day 1: The Art of Bread Making - Begin the workshop with a deep dive into breadmaking fundamentals. You’ll mix and shape baguette dough to craft an assortment of rolls, including:
- Rustic rolls
- Yeasted garlic knots
- Cornbread muffins (quickbread)
Day 2: Cookies and Cream - Build on your foundational skills by exploring cookies and dessert bars:
- Learn the “creaming method” and bake perfectly soft and chewy snickerdoodle cookies.
- Make rich, buttery blondie bars.
- Assemble a classic cream pie with a graham cracker crust, balancing textures and flavors.
Day 3: Elevated Desserts and Garnishes - Finish strong and build on everything you've learned by creating an elevated plated dessert and mastering the art of garnishes:
- Choose between crafting a luscious banana cream pie or a zesty lemon cream pie.
- Prepare decadent caramel and strawberry sauces.
- Create garnishes like banana chips and strawberry chips for an added flair.
- Bake delicate oatmeal lace cookies to complement your dessert.
By the end of this workshop, you’ll have a solid foundation in baking techniques, recipes to impress, and the confidence to experiment and create your own masterpieces. - Please enjoy a 10% discount on all items in our retail store during the full calendar day/night of your class. Our retail store will be open for browsing prior to class, during any breaks, and after class.
- For multi-session classes and series: We will gladly give you a full refund if you need to cancel more than three weeks prior to the start of a multi-session class. Within three weeks of the start of a series, no refunds or credits will be given. Please note that once the series has begun, no substitutions will be allowed since the series is designed for the classes to build upon each other. In the event you miss a class in the series, no refunds will be given and it is not possible to make up the class(es) in a future similar series.
- Please note that any refund issued for classes purchased using a Gift Certificate or Account Credit will result in reinstatement of the original Gift Card or Account Credit and will bear the same expiration date. Account Credits issued for cancelations within three weeks of a class will expire one year from the date of issuance. We reserve the right to cancel a class for any reason, at any time, in which case you will receive a full refund.
- If (a) you’d like to sit with another registered guest, or (b) have any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please let us know in the Comments section of your registration after reading our full description of policies and information about classes. If you've registered with other people on the same order, you will automatically be seated together.
- This series is for adults 18+. You must be at least 18 years old as of the class date (or as of the first date of the first class of a series).
- Your registration tells us that you have read through the class description including the age requirements for that particular class.
