In this 2-hour class, you will learn how to make pasta from scratch, make a ravioli filling, make at least three shapes including one filled, and how to perfectly cook your pasta.
Chef Mark will
- Talk about what pasta is and how to select the right flour for the type of pasta you are making.
- Demonstrate a variety of pasta-making techniques (the way that Nonnas used to do it by hand and modern techniques).
- Show you how to make at least three pasta shapes, including one filled pasta.
- Show you how to make one pasta filling.
- Show you how to cook the pasta, avoid over-cooking, and test for done-ness.
Participants will
- Learn how to make pasta dough, at least three pasta shapes, a pasta filling, and how to cook the pasta.
- Participate in making the pasta.
- Taste at least one pasta dish (Chef Mark will coat in sauce but will not demonstrate sauce-making in this class).
- Take home the featured recipes and samples.
No cooking experience necessary.
We will have hot coffee, hot tea, and cold water available. Feel free to bring your own nonalcoholic beverages with you.
