This is a two-part class designed for those who want to learn more about the fusing world and begin to design and plan their own work. We will cover the areas of tools, types of glass, principles and aspects of glass fusing, firing schedules, glass elements, different techniques and a whole lot of everything.
You will create test tiles using a variety of glass elements and firing schedules to become aware of what different temperatures do to the glass. You will design a couple of 5x5 tiles, using what you have learned. After these experiences, we will discuss who or why not certain things happened. We will spend time planning and analyzing fused glass pieces and talk about how they were done.
There will be an introduction to the glass studio and how it can be utilized for students who are interested in working more independently on their own projects.
