Bedazzle a Spooky Book Class at Metta Coffee inside Avant Garden

Kick off October by adding a new ~spooky sparkle~ to your bookshelf! Join Avant Garden Bookstore, in collaboration with Rumriver Art Center and Metta Coffee, to bedazzle a spooky book!

Students are asked to bring in a favorite book, a recent read, an adored book, purchase a book from Avant Garden Bookstore, or use one of the free books provided by Rumriver Art Center.  A hardcover will increase the longevity of the bedazzling, but either hard or soft cover works just fine!

A ‘spooky’ book could fall into genres such as horror, mystery, thriller, or sci-fi. An instructor will guide students through the process of adhering the rhinestones and different ways to approach bedazzling letters. There will be lots of time for book-ish conversations. Participants will leave the class with a shimmering-rhinestone-covered book!

All bedazzling materials will be provided by Rumriver Art Center. If you need a bit more time to work on your project, small bags will also be provided to bring rhinestones home. This community class is great for kids, great for adults, great for the whole family!

Please note:
*The free books provided by Rumriver Art Center are miscellaneous books that have been donated to us, and are not current titles. 

*This class takes place in the evening, and Metta Coffee has subdued lighting. If participants would like, they can bring a book light or a headlamp to make their workspace brighter! Since the light fixtures are hardwired and installed on a high ceiling, we unfortunately cannot adjust them to increase brightness.
