- How to make proper cuts, as well as, wood selection, prep, mounting.
Spindle sanding and finishing
Confidence to take on that next lathe project you are thinking about tackling

The lathe room and any of our spindles tools (gouges, chucks, centers, etc..)
This does not clear you for bowl and vessel use on these lathes
(Idea Foundry workshop members who have taken this class are cleared for independent use of these tools in the shop. Learn more about membership here.)
Plan Your Visit All materials and safety equipment supplied. Students are required to wear closed-toe shoes and long pants to participate, and sturdy footwear (e.g. tennis shoes or boots) is recommended. Natural fiber clothing is recommended (e.g. cotton, denim). Plan to arrive for class about 10-15 min early and check in at the front desk. Please park in the Gravity garage. The entrance is on State St at Lucas, between the Gravity building and the railroad bridge. Bring your garage ticket to class for validation.
