Class Description
We've got your Thanksgiving pie taken care in today's class! Nothing says traditional American fare more than classic Dutch Apple Pie. In this hands-on class, you will craft each component of this beloved dessert from scratch: flaky, buttery crust, cinnamon-spiced apple filling, brown sugar streusel topping, homemade whipped cream, and a caramel drizzle. Your guide is Executive Pastry Chef Catie Wiley, who joins us after a distinguished career as a pastry chef at several iconic patisseries and restaurants on the East Coast.
We'll begin by making the best all-purpose pie dough. You'll learn the techniques for mixing the dough, rolling it out, transferring it to the pie plate, and achieving that coveted flaky crust. While the dough chills, you'll peel and slice fresh, crisp apples to prepare the tart filling. For a hint of spice, we’re dressing our apples in cinnamon, nutmeg, and just a touch of lemon. Streusel crumble made from brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and vanilla will give your pie it’s signature crunchy-sweet topping. A sprinkle of chopped dried cherries is the secret tangy finishing touch to bring all the flavors together. For a grand finale, Chef Catie will teach you to make creamy homemade whip cream and a classic salted caramel drizzle that’s easy as (you guessed it) pie.
By the end of the class, you'll take home a gorgeous Dutch Apple Pie ready to be baked at home just in time for your Thanksgiving gatherings. Fill your own kitchen with the heavenly scent of those fresh apples and warm cinnamon. This timeless, homespun dessert tastes like it came straight from grandma's kitchen. You'll also leave with recipes and skills to recreate this All-American treat for seasons to come.

- We provide a full refund if you need to cancel more than three weeks prior to the start of a scheduled class. You will receive an Account Credit if you need to cancel at any time within three weeks but prior to the class start time. Please note that any refund issued for classes purchased using a Gift Certificate or Account Credit will result in reinstatement of the original Gift Card or Account Credit and will bear the same expiration date. Account Credits issued for cancelations within three weeks of a class will expire one year from the date of issuance. We reserve the right to cancel a class for any reason, at any time, in which case you will receive a full refund.
- This class is for adults 18+. Children 14-17 years old are allowed if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please let us know if you plan to bring a minor.
