Intro to Three-Dimensional Painting gives students the opportunity to explore the third dimension in painting. Students will be introduced to the Surrealist practice of "involuntary sculpture" through the lens of mindfulness. The overall goal of the class will be for students to create a small 8 x 10" painting with a three-dimensional surface using these principles.
About the instructor:
Paul Fosaaen is an abstract painter who specializes in three-dimensional painting. Paul started painting in 2006 and was introduced to three-dimensional painting concepts by his college painting professor, David Feinberg. Since 2019, Paul has explored various methods of creating three-dimensional surfaces in his paintings, from molding paste, to fabric, to paper.
