Being that we are located in a very old building, there are no elevators or escalators. The only way into the upstairs studio is to climb up 18 stairs. We are currently exploring options and funding to make this space more accessible for everyone.
In this class students will get a great art foundation by learning the elements of art: color, form, line, shape, texture and value. Each week students will also be introduced and study an artist from history whose artwork is an example of one or more of these elements of art. Students will then create a drawing based on what they have learned. They will get to explore a variety of art materials to use in their drawings: pencil, charcoal, pastel, colored pencil, watercolor and more.
