The Canadian Rockies are without a doubt one of the most beautiful regions in North America. We travel to Alberta to photograph majestic mountains, turquoise glacial lakes and stunning waterfalls! We will be based close to Banff National Park - Canada’s oldest and most famous park. Known for its rugged beauty and abundant wildlife, the park is a paradise for photographers. In June, the highest peaks will still be frosted with snow and we will find fresh green throughout the valley meadows.
Our itinerary will remain flexible to adapt to weather and local conditions. To provide an overview:
On the first day, our adventure starts with a brief introductory session at 6 PM, followed by a sunset photography session after dinner.
In the following days, we'll capture stunning sunrises and sunsets over magnificent mountain lakes, glacial lakes, and snow-covered mountain peaks. The extended Golden Hour in this northern location will provide nearly 90 minutes of fantastic light with astonishing colors. We'll also embark on a scenic drive along the renowned Icefields Parkway, and there will be opportunities for short hikes, including one leading to a picturesque waterfall, ideal for photography. If the weather forecasts clear skies, we may stay out for night sky photography, Although we won't see the Milky Way at this time of year due to the northern latitude, there are still excellent spots for capturing star trails.
As time permits, we will plan to explore less frequented areas in Banff National Park, revealing surprisingly beautiful and photogenic places.
Some days may offer afternoon downtime for resting or exploring local attractions, including the charming town of Banff. Most days will include an early dinner before our sunset photography sessions.
On the final day, we'll capture a sunrise near the hotel, allowing time for packing before departing for the airport. The workshop will conclude by 8 AM, ensuring participants have ample time to catch their flights.
