Class Description
Join us on a culinary journey through Southeast Asia as we explore fresh and vibrant flavors that make Thai cuisine so unforgettable and fun to cook. You'll learn to master sweet, sour, salty and umami flavors that defines the Thai culinary style. Your guide is CCKC Head Instructor and Executive Chef Melissa Houston, who has travelled the globe cooking and teaching for over 30 years. Hailing from the West Coast, Melissa uses her wealth of culinary experience to put her own unique spin on regional and global cuisine that is both healthy and delicious.
On the menu this afternoon is a variety of classic Thai dishes. Chef Melissa starts off with a light and fresh Papaya Salad. Shredded green papaya, cherry tomatoes, toasted peanuts and Thai Snake Beans (green beans) are dressed in tangy-sweet dressing of garlic, chilis, dried shrimp, lime juice and fish sauce. Now let’s spice things up with Tom Yum Soup, a classic hot and sour soup with silky tofu, coconut milk, spicy broth, with shallots, tomatoes, and mushrooms. For your main event, you’re stir-frying Pork Belly to crispy, melt-in-your-mouth perfection served over steaming Jasmine Rice with a Fried Egg. A blend of fish, oyster, and soy sauces will finish off this mouth-watering main course. Wrapping up our afternoon is the iconic sweet-treat: Mango Sticky Rice. Sticky rice is covered in a thick, sweet sauce of coconut milk and chopped fresh mangos.

- We provide a full refund if you need to cancel more than three weeks prior to the start of a scheduled class. You will receive an Account Credit if you need to cancel at any time within three weeks but prior to the class start time. Please note that any refund issued for classes purchased using a Gift Certificate or Account Credit will result in reinstatement of the original Gift Card or Account Credit and will bear the same expiration date. Account Credits issued for cancelations within three weeks of a class will expire one year from the date of issuance. We reserve the right to cancel a class for any reason, at any time, in which case you will receive a full refund.
- This class is for adults 18+. Children 14-17 years old are allowed if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please let us know if you plan to bring a minor.
