General Information
- Gluten products, dairy products, tree nuts, seeds, red meat, pork, chicken, seafood, fruits, and vegetable may be used in the recipes we are cooking and/or baking in class.
- Please email denise@pensacolacooks.com PRIOR TO REGISTRATION with any special dietary or medical needs your child has at this time. Our camp director will follow-up with you regarding registration.
- Campers integrate language arts, social studies, and STEAM skills in camp culinary experiences.
- Campers practice a variety of “hands-on” cooking and/or baking skills and techniques with child-friendly recipes.
- Campers will be divided into groups by age.
- Campers learn the value of food health and safety requirements.
- Campers learn and practice proper etiquette and manners in a group when cooking, baking, and eating the food they prepare.
What is Included
- 5 days of camp, Monday-Friday, 4 hours each day for 20 hours of hands-on instruction by trained culinary instructors and assistants in a small class environment.
- Baking and cooking skills, kitchen safety, STEAM skills, and flavor profiles are incorporated throughout camp
- Wholesome food prepared in class with water provided (food prepared in class is served to eat, but campers need to eat a meal prior to class each day)
- Daily use of class aprons, cooking utensils, kitchen gadgets and all supplies
- Camp recipe booklet, certificate of participation, and a chef hat are presented at the “PCKids Jr. Chef graduation” on the last day of camp.
Requirements
- Adults must sign-in and sign-out their child each day of camp, no drop-offs at door.
- Wear closed toe shoes (no sandals) for safety purposes
- Pull back long hair in a pony tail for hygiene purposes
- No jewelry, please
- No use of personal cell phones during camp
