Learn how to make your very first yarn using simple tools and principles.
Participants will learn about fiber preparation for spinning with a focus on wool. Then, they will learn how to operate a drop spindle to make yarn. The bulk of the class will be practice time with the spindles. Students will also learn principles of plying and finishing yarn. Students will be able to take home yarn depending on how much they get done, but the class is more about skill building.
All materials will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own fiber to spin.
Duration: 3 hours
*Students are welcome to park in the Forge's parking lot for free. Do not be intimated by the towing signs!
There must be at least 4 participants for this class to occur. If there are not enough participants, we will email participants as close to 24hrs in advance as possible and remit refunds by the next business day.
