Class Description:
Are you ready for a summer packed full of backyard grill outs, lake days, and pool parties? We are too! May is National BBQ Month and The Culinary Center of Kansas City is prepared to show you how to take full advantage of your backyard grill!  Let’s start this hot celebration with a Summertime Bourbon Smash because…well…we can!  Then let’s join Chef Larry ‘The BBQ Dude’ Hadley and Chef Vicky Lara as  they walk you through the ‘ins & outs’ of how to create sensational grilled party foods – summer style. We’ll dive in by getting back to basics as we learn how to build the perfect fire. Then our BBQ master chefs will keep the BBQ grilling ‘how-to’ hits going as they teach you how to make the tastiest pulled pork, handmade “Fatties” (that’s ‘sausage sliders for you BBQ neophytes!), BBQ sauce, grilled vegetables and a grilled dessert.  What did she just say?  Grilled dessert?  Yup, it’s a thing. There’s more to BBQ than ‘meats’ the eye!  (See what I did there?).  You’ll be ready to impress neighbors and family alike with your new mastery in The Art of Backyard BBQ!

• For all class registrations made after March 20, your class registration is non-cancellable and non-refundable.  Should you be unable to attend, we suggest that you consider sending someone in your place.  If possible, please let us know of any substitutions so that we can update our records.  For all class registrations made prior to March 20, 2023, your registration is non-cancellable and non-refundable if your request to cancel is made within 72 hours of the start time for that class.

• Your registration tells us that you have read through the class description including the age requirements for that particular class.
• For Adult Classes: you must be at least 18 years old as of the class date.
• Unless otherwise noted in the class description, all Adult classes include one glass of beer or wine. Additional alcoholic beverages are available for purchase.
