Campers Will Learn
Mixed Media: Going beyond the traditional paper, scissors and glue that children are used to, mixed media crafts incorporate a variety of materials in one project. These types of arts and crafts provide an opportunity for campers to play around with new textures, shapes and colors. They can become the star of their own artistic creations with just a little guidance from camp leaders.
Painting: The Art of Painting is a fun, interactive way for children to experience the world of art. Campers will learn different painting techniques like splash, wet-on-wet, and dry brushing. This program also explores different mediums like acrylic paint and oil pastels.
The different paints allow for a variety of effects, from flat color to transparent gradients, and are easily blended with each other to create seamless transitions between tones.
Team Building: We allow campers to experience the satisfaction of a job well done, while also developing project management skills, leadership skills, and teamwork – all while focusing on the creative side of the arts!
Critical Thinking: Campers will learn critical thinking and problem solving skills, while encouraging them to express themselves through painting, sculpture, or other forms of self-expression. Skills include observational drawing and color theory.
Art as Therapy: At Craft Camp, we believe that children are creators and innovators, with unlimited potential to express their inner strengths. Our camp leaders use arts-based activities to help kids tap into and express their strength, overcome a struggle, or seek resolution. By fostering the healing process through art and play therapy, campers learn how to manage feelings in creative and constructive ways.
