In this class, students will delve into a plethora of drawing techniques, including shapes, contour,
sketching, shading, texture, perspective and explore simple crafting with recycled materials. The instructor draws inspiration from the collaborative creative storytelling elements of Dungeons & Dragons in the curriculum, by merging story, art and problem solving. The students' characters start with very little adventuring items. They must learn, practice and apply the art lesson so that their characters can use them in game, overcoming puzzles and helping them on their journey. This class not only focuses on the technical aspects of drawing but also emphasizes the importance of observing, encourages creativity, fosters social skills, enhances critical thinking, builds confidence, fosters inclusivity, provides a safe place for expression and as a bonus, promotes literacy and math. Join us as we embark on a journey of artistic discovery and adventure!
There will be a snack break approximately halfway through class each day. Included in your camp registration is 1 snack or drink per day. Students may bring cash to purchase additional snacks or drinks or bring their own additional snacks or drinks, if desired. Additional snacks and drinks are $1 each.
