In this class students will complete two baskets, a wall basket and an elbow basket. The wall basket is perfect to use on a front door or as a letter holder. The size will be determined by the space you want to fill. It can be narrow to go between two doors, or a bit wider to hold more items. The wall basket will be made with natural, smoked reed, cane and colored reed will also be provided. The second basket is shaped like an elbow, with two openings and a handle. Elbow baskets were originally used by the Choctaw people to gather herbs and hold utensils. Students will learn how to shape the basket and make their own reed-wrapped handle.
