Homeschool Exploring Animals in Art 8 Week Course Spring 2024

Cost: $125 (This class is made possible at a subsidized rate by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.)
Location: Rumriver Art Center (upstairs studio suite 201)
Being that we are located in a very old building, there are no elevators or escalators. The only way into the upstairs studio is to climb up 18 stairs. We are currently exploring options and funding to make this space more accessible for everyone.

In this class students will be learning about different ways of creating animals using different art materials.  Students will explore drawing, oil pastel resist with watercolor, creating an animal out of clay, acrylic painting, printmaking and more.  Each week the students will be introduced to an artist from history or present day to be inspired by in their artmaking.  Students will also learn about the elements.  This is a fun expressive class where students will bring home a lot of different animals created in many different ways.
