Class Description:
Tonight’s class is all about socializing the Spanish way. Your guide is CCKC Head Instructor and Executive Chef Melissa Houston, who has travelled the globe cooking and teaching for over 30 years. Hailing from the West Coast, Melissa uses her wealth of culinary experience to put her own unique spin on regional and global cuisine that is both healthy and delicious. Chef Melissa is taking you to the Iberian Peninsula tonight with a traditional spread of Spanish Tapas.
We’re going big on small plates and kicking the evening off with a Grazing Platter of Manchego cheese, iconic Jamón Serrano- a slow aged ham perfected by simple sea salt- Spanish olives, Marcona almonds and Caperberries add to the bright variety of flavors for this starter.
Next is our first of four tapas: spicy chorizo stuffed into soft dates wrapped in pancetta. Then we’re really getting to the meat of it all with Albondigas, Spanish meatballs in a savory tomato sauce with tangy goat cheese and topped with Castelvetrano olives. Follow that with Baccala Mantecato, a salted cod spread served with warm, crusty bread. Last is Potatas Bravas, soft, cubed potatoes served with a bright and flavorful tomato-based sauce. We couldn’t end the night without a sweet finish. Chef Melissa will demonstrate the process of creating a Valencia Orange Flan, often referred to as the national dessert of Spain. Enjoy these small plate creations for a big night of fun with friends!
This evening’s featured cocktail for purchase is a Red Sangria.

- We provide a full refund if you need to cancel more than three weeks prior to the start of a scheduled class. You will receive an Account Credit if you need to cancel at any time within three weeks but prior to the class start time. Please note that any refund issued for classes purchased using a Gift Certificate or Account Credit will result in reinstatement of the original Gift Card or Account Credit and will bear the same expiration date. Account Credits issued for cancelations within three weeks of a class will expire one year from the date of issuance. We reserve the right to cancel a class for any reason, at any time, in which case you will receive a full refund.
- This class is for adults 18+. Children 14-17 years old are allowed if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please let us know if you plan to bring a minor.
