IN THIS 2-HOUR BEGINNER’S WORKSHOP YOU WILL
Practice different ways of centering clay and learn what works best for you.
Explore the most effective way for you to “open” the clay - this is the first hole you make in the center of the clay and the beginning of the inside of your pot.
Learn how to "pull your walls”. This is the way we lift the clay into the wall of the pot.
Learn how to compress the rim and bottom of your pot.
Learn how to shape your cup or bowl.
Learn basic Trimming & Glazing.
Learn how to thoroughly clean up and keep the space safe and ready for your next time and for your fellow studio mates.
No experience required - Ages 16 and up only
This class is ideal for folks with zero experience, though to those who've had a few lessons, but need a refresher to improve their technique.
Long nails are not recommended when learning the wheel. You may not be able to fully succeed in this class, if your nails are long, as it is difficult to complete most of the steps in throwing. Please trim nails before first class. Long hair should be pulled back as well.
Can I reschedule a class if I miss one?
Sorry, if you can’t make it to a session, we’re not able to offer make-up classes, or switcheroos.
How do I book?
Please note only the FIRST date of the session is listed when booking in below (click 'select a time' button). You only need to book in for the first date of the session, and you will be automatically signed up for all 3 consecutive weeks.
Please make absolutely sure that you can attend BEFORE you register.
Once you have registered, there is NO refunds or credits given.
Please understand, we are a small studio and to sustain our business, our studio needs to hold firm to this policy.
CLASS COST-
$325 - WHAT THIS INCLUDES- Instruction, Clay, Glaze and firing, one extra day for glazing to be determined by end of workshop. Class dates are July 26 & 29, August, 2, 5, 9, & 12
Please bring an apron and towel, as these will not be provided for you at the studio.
