Shibori Scarf with REAL Indigo Dye - More Fun than Tye Dy
Shibori is the ancient Japanese art of folding or stitching cloth and then dyeing it to create beautiful, unique designs that are similar to tye dye, only more grown up. In this class, you will get to work with REAL natural indigo dye to create a beautiful cotton scarf that is perfect for spring and summer outfits. Indigo is a fun process because when you first dip the fabric, it is green at first. Then as the dye is exposed to the air, it turns the familiar blue color that you know from your favorite pair of blue jeans. This dye process has been around since the 12th century and is an excellent learning experience for all ages.
SKILL LEVEL: All skill levels and great for beginners
INCLUDED IN FEE All materials needed for project and use of tools in class are included in class fee.
NEED TO BRING Just your creativity. And wear clothes you can get messy. Indigo stains!!!
