In this engaging and creative class, students will explore a variety of techniques to create animal-themed artwork using diverse art materials. They’ll experiment with drawing, oil pastels, watercolor, clay sculpting, acrylic painting, and more. Each week, students will be introduced to inspiring artists from history or the present day, sparking ideas for their own creations. Along the way, they’ll also learn key elements of art, such as line, shape, color, and composition. This fun and expressive class encourages imagination and creativity, with students bringing home unique animal artworks crafted through different methods.
There will be a visit by a Bearded Dragon who will model for the drawing lesson.
For kiddos to explore freely, we have a policy that parents aren’t in the classroom. We’ve also found that without guardians in the classroom, students have space to create more organic relationships and connections with others in the class. Parents or guardians may bring their student to the space and help them feel comfortable up to 10 minutes prior to the class start time, then guardians may sit outside of the classroom in our common area space. This way they are reachable if something comes up and the student is assured you are close by.
