About Camp
This is a new camp for HAC. It will consist of a sampling of all the different aspects of theatre. After experiencing the various sides of theatre the campers will pick on area they would like to perform on the last day. There will also be group numbers for everyone to perform. Each day will have a different theatre professional.
Drama will be led by Linda Sheppard, Clowning will be taught by Kathleen Carlson, 5th grade teacher at Brown elementary. Music will be taught by Alexa Rybinski, private voice teacher at Musicologie and Drama director at Hilliard Bradley HS. Amy Lang will teach choreography. She has choreographed several HAC productions. We will also bring in a professional actor to talk with the campers. They will also learn about technical theatre from professional designers and technicians.
Day One: Acting/Improv in the morning, Clowning in the afternoon.
Day Two: Music in the morning, Choreo in the afternoon
Day Three: Tech in the morning, Professional Theatre in the afternoon and campers choose what they want to perform on the last day.
Day Four: Rehearsal
Day Five: Dress rehearsal in the am, performance in the afternoon.
Dates & Times, Location
This camp meets daily, 9:00am to 4:00pm Monday, July 21, through Friday, July 25.
Drop-off and pick-up will be at the Hilliard Civic & Cultural Arts Center unless communicated otherwise by camp staff.
What to Bring
Snacks are provided, but campers will need to supply a packed lunch. Please dress appropriately for the weather in comfortable clothes that can potentially get messy. Water bottle is recommended. Students may want to bring sunscreen or insect repellent as desired as some activities will be outdoors.
