Meet the Authors
SHELLEY ADAMS lives in Nelson, British Columbia, with her husband Mike and their dog Lucy, the luckiest golden retriever on the planet. Shelley, the bestselling author of the Whitewater Cooks series, is known for her ability to create recipes using everyday, easily sourced ingredients that can be flung together for a weeknight meal or a memorable dinner with friends.
Shelley’s story as a chef started at a world-renowned cooking school in Paris, followed by a return to her roots in Vancouver where she thrived as a caterer to the movie industry before the call of the Kootenays became irresistible. In the late 80’s, Shelley and Mike became owners of Nelson’s fabulous Whitewater Ski Resort, where the Fresh Tracks Café became a destination for foodies who couldn’t get enough of Shelley’s delicious, innovative fare.
Shelley instilled a passion for food and developing creative recipes in her children, Ali and Conner. Recipes from their repertoires have appeared in each of Shelley’s cookbooks.
CONNER ADAMS lives in Venice Beach, California, with his wife, Sarah, and their perfect cat, Thomas. He loves cooking and creating delicious recipes for Sarah and their lucky friends. When growing up in Nelson, Conner’s love of cooking began at home, where exposure to good food was a given, and at the Fresh Tracks Café. The Food We Love is a beautiful collaboration of Shelley’s Kootenay-style fare and Conner’s upbeat California cuisine. Shelley, Conner, Mike, Ali and Sarah welcome you to the pages, photos and recipes of this book to enjoy for years to come!
