Nan Jacobsohn Clay Sculpture Class "8 week series" $320
Thursdays Mornings: 10am-1pm
August 1st through September 26th
Class Begins Thursday, August 1st (No Classes on Aug 29th)
No Experience Necessary: Beginner to Advanced Levels.
Students will create 3 medium sized sculpture projects roughly 8" x 10" during the 8 week series using sculpture and hand building in clay processes. Class "includes Bisque Firing" of sculptures that are made in class.
Students can achieve beautiful colors and rich effects by applying Underglaze colors and slips to the surface before bisque firing.
I like to call sculpture 1000 dimensional. It gives you a new challenge from every viewpoint. In this series of classes, we will explore a variety of methods for creating sculpture including slab construction, coil and direct modeling and hollowing. Suggested projects using these methods will be demonstrated fully. Most will be appropriate for both the beginner and more advanced student. I am also willing to assist those experienced students who have a special challenge in mind on an individual basis. A number of finishing techniques will also be covered. Nan Jacobsohn
