This fun and engaging 8-week sculpture class combines hands-on creativity with a journey through art history! Students will learn about famous sculptors and movements from the past while creating their own sculptures using a variety of materials, including clay, wire, paper, cardboard, and recycled objects. Each week, we'll focus on a different artist or period, from ancient civilizations to modern and contemporary art, with simple and exciting projects for all age levels. Kids will explore different techniques like clay modeling, paper sculptures, and building with cardboard, encouraging creativity and experimentation.
By the end of the course, students will have gained a deeper understanding of art history and developed the skills to create their own unique masterpieces. Perfect for young artists who love to explore, create, and learn.
For kiddos to explore freely, we have a policy that parents aren’t in the classroom. We’ve also found that without guardians in the classroom, students have space to create more organic relationships and connections with others in the class. Parents or guardians may bring their student to the space and help them feel comfortable up to 10 minutes prior to the class start time, then guardians may sit outside of the classroom in our common area space. This way they are reachable if something comes up and the student is assured you are close by.
