Soft Charcoal Pastel 6 Week Course

In this 6 week class students will learn the history of the pastel medium and pastel artists; understand painting surfaces and their features. Understand how to manipulate pastel sticks for creative mark-making and experiment with making marks, e.g., blending, layering, hatching, cross hatching, stippling, etc. Finally, students will put their newfound skill sets into practice and create a final project on an 8” x 10” Ampersand Pastelbord.

Students are required to provide their own pastels.
