Class Description:
Do your little kids (ages 5-8) turn up their noses and back away when they see veggies on their plates? Enter experienced instructor, Chef Susy Lara, who is eager to show kids how delicious veggies really are… especially when prepared with Italian pizazz! Chef Susy has been teaching kids classes at CCKC for many years and always gets rave reviews from her students. She's also a second-grade teacher, so she has tons of experience in the classroom and knows how to connect with this age group. In this interactive one-day cooking class, Susy teaches kids and their adult cooking partners basic culinary skills like how to measure, chop (with kid-friendly knives), mix, and whisk the correct way. Then, they’ll put on aprons and get hands-on cooking action as they put those new skills to work and help prepare fresh-from-the-farmers-market recipes like Italian Hummus (a cannellini bean and herb dip that they’ll taste with fresh veggies), a classic Italian Margherita Pizza topped with fresh basil and tomatoes, and a colorful Tossed Salad with homemade vinaigrette dressing. For a sweet ending to this fun class, the kids and their adult partners will help Susy prep a sweet Summer Fruit Dessert with homemade whipped cream. This fun and interactive class will turn any kid into a fresh fruit and veggie lover!

• We provide a full refund if you need to cancel more than three weeks prior to the start of a scheduled class. You will receive an Account Credit if you need to cancel at any time within three weeks but prior to the class start time. Please note that any refund issued for classes purchased using a Gift Certificate or Account Credit will result in reinstatement of the original Gift Card or Account Credit and will bear the same expiration date. Account Credits issued for cancelations within three weeks of a class will expire one year from the date of issuance. We reserve the right to cancel a class for any reason, at any time, in which case you will receive a full refund.
• This class is designed and taught for children ages 5-8. By registering your child, you are telling us that your child will be at least 5 years old as of the class date. We reserve the right to check the age of your child. Should we find that they are younger than 5, they will not be able to attend this class and no refunds will be given. Children have to be accompanied for the duration of the class by an adult (age 18+ parent or guardian).
• If (a) you and your child would like to sit with another registered guest, or (b) have any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please let us know in the Comments section of your registration after reading our full description of policies and information about classes. If you've registered with other people on the same order, you will automatically be seated together.
• Your registration tells us that you have read through the class description including the age requirements for that particular class.
• For Little Chefs (ages 5-8) classes: Your child must be at least 5 years old as of the class date and no more than 8 years old. In addition, you must have an Under 18 Waiver that is signed by a parent or legal guardian. Click here for a copy of the Under 18 Waiver. We encourage you to download, print, and sign the waiver and bring it to class with your child. If someone other than the parent signs a Waiver, they will need a legal document to be presented that shows without question that they have the legal authority to sign a Waiver on behalf of your child at that time. Without an appropriately signed Waiver, your child will not be allowed to attend the class. Please choose the class that is right for the developmental level and maturity of your child. 
• Our Kitchen Shop Experience™ will be open for browsing prior to class, during any breaks, and after class.
