Alternative Firings Weekend Workshop Sept 13th-15th 

$275 Includes Materials and Firings. Lunches Provided.

Presenting Artists: Larry and Tracey Rogers of LTR Pottery, Donna Rizzo, Sharon Ingram and Rick Long

Each participant will bring 6 pre-bisque fired pots that can be up to 9" tall and up to 6" wide

Workshop Schedule:

Friday, September 13th 7pm-9pm "Reception and Artist Discussion" 
Friday evening will include refreshments. The presenting artists will share information about their work and they will also have some of their pottery available for purchase. Participants are welcome to bring their spouse or a
guest to the reception.

Saturday, September 14th and Sunday, September 15th  9am-4pm
"Surface Preparation and Firing Techniques"
Saturday and Sunday will be hands on instruction of how to prepare the surface of your pottery for each process along with firing throughout each day. 

It is fun and exciting to see your pieces come out of the firing and within
a short time, you are holding your finished piece. 

Lunch will be provided on Saturday and Sunday. We will email a choice of sandwich options prior workshop.

*Participants will need to wear solid toe shoes, long sleeves that are not loose, and long pants during the firings. Aprons would be great to bring and dress for the mess.

Important: Bring a can of Deft or Minwax Spray wood Finish in Satin or Gloss to seal your pieces.

There is lodging and activities throughout the area. We can email you with suggestions.

Preparing your pottery to bring: It is recommended to burnish or apply terra sigillata to the surface of your pots and buff before bisque firing. Firing pots to cone 010 or 1650 degrees is suggested to maintain the luster on the surface. It is acceptable to fire to cone 06 or up to 1850 degrees. Bring 6 pots up to 9" tall and/or 6" wide in dimension.
