WOW! – Autumn Reflections at Hagley!
Step back in time and capture the beauty of history and autumn in our one-day photography workshop at Hagley Museum and Library. Nestled on more than 200 scenic acres along the Brandywine River, this remarkable location was once the original E.I. du Pont gunpowder mills founded in 1802 and is now one of the most visually rich historic sites in the region.
During this immersive hands-on workshop, photographers will explore and photograph the historic gunpowder yards, stone structures, water wheels, and the beautifully preserved 19th-century machine shop. Autumn transforms the property into a spectacular landscape filled with vibrant fall foliage, colorful reflections along the river, rustic textures, and endless photographic inspiration.
This workshop is perfect for photographers who enjoy history, landscapes, architecture, industrial subjects, and creative storytelling through imagery. We will discuss composition, exposure techniques, creative perspectives, and how to use natural light to bring out the mood and character of this unique location.
Whether you are looking to capture sweeping autumn landscapes, intricate industrial details, or atmospheric historical scenes, Hagley offers an incredible opportunity to create portfolio-worthy images in a relaxed and inspiring environment.
Come spend the day learning, exploring, and capturing the beauty of one of Delaware’s most historic treasures — and take your photography from ho-hum to WOW!
