Class Description
Start the new year off on a sweet note! This class is for wine enthusiasts, both beginners and pros, who would like to learn all the ins and outs of wine and dessert pairings in a “one-stop-shop” class. Tonight’s class is taught by Food and Beverage Journalist Dave Eckert. Eckert has spent the better part of 30 years exploring the world of wine through print, broadcast, hands-on wine tastings, wine and food pairings, and vineyard and winery profiles. In his award-winning Public Broadcasting series, Culinary Travels with Dave Eckert, Eckert produced, hosted, and directed 275 half-hour episodes on six continents. He currently hosts food and beverage segments on My KC LIVE on KCTV5 and writes and food and beverage column for Kansas City Homes and Style Magazine.

The world of dessert wine is not easy to navigate with so many different regions, so many different grape varieties, and so many different expressions, picking a wine to pair with dessert, or just one to sip and savor by the fire, can be a daunting, and expensive, task. But, as wine lover, food and beverage journalist, and port fanatic, Dave Eckert, will show you, it doesn't have to be.

In this class, Eckert will introduce you to dessert wines from all around the world, and he'll have some food pairings to help you with your dessert wine selection. Matching the right wine with the right dessert is a wonderful way to end an evening, and this class will provide a wonderful evening to get you there.

• Please enjoy a 10% discount on all items in our retail store during the full calendar day/night of your class or event. Our retail store will be open for browsing prior to class, during any breaks, and after class. 
• We provide a full refund if you need to cancel more than three weeks prior to the start of a scheduled class. You will receive an Account Credit if you need to cancel at any time within three weeks but prior to the class start time. Please note that any refund issued for classes purchased using a Gift Certificate or Account Credit will result in reinstatement of the original Gift Card or Account Credit and will bear the same expiration date. Account Credits issued for cancelations within three weeks of a class will expire one year from the date of issuance. We reserve the right to cancel a class for any reason, at any time, in which case you will receive a full refund.
• Adult only (21+): Only adults over the age of 21. Alcohol will be served in this class as part of the menu. If you do not wish to drink, please let us know in the "comments" section of sign-up.
• If (a) you’d like to sit with another registered guest, or (b) have any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please let us know in the Comments section of your registration after reading our full description of policies and information about classes. If you've registered with other people on the same order, you will automatically be seated together.
