Being that we are located in a very old building, there are no elevators or escalators. The only way into the upstairs studio is to climb up 18 stairs. We are currently exploring options and funding to make this space more accessible for everyone.

This creative 8-week homeschool class combines the timeless craft of bookbinding with a journey through modern art. Students will learn different bookbinding techniques while exploring the works of contemporary artists like Yayoi Kusama, David Hockney, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. They’ll create their own unique handmade books, experimenting with art, texture, and design. Perfect for young artists who want to learn both a valuable skill and gain inspiration from the world of modern art!
Throughout the course, children will develop their creativity, fine motor skills, and artistic confidence while exploring the endless possibilities of mixed media art. They'll also gain an understanding of art history, modern trends, and how different cultures use mixed materials in their creative expression.
For kiddos to explore freely, we have a policy that parents aren’t in the classroom. We’ve also found that without guardians in the classroom, students have space to create more organic relationships and connections with others in the class. Parents or guardians may bring their student to the space and help them feel comfortable up to 10 minutes prior to the class start time, then guardians may sit outside of the classroom in our common area space. This way they are reachable if something comes up and the student is assured you are close by.
