Location: Rumriver Art Center (upstairs studio suite 201 - Being that we are located in a very old building, there are no elevators or escalators. The only way into the upstairs studio is to climb up 18 stairs. We are currently exploring funding options such as grants and fundraisers to get a chair lift installed for the stairway to make this gallery more accessible for everyone.)
Teacher: Christine Tauer
In this class students will learn the foundations of drawing by learning the elements of art: color, form, line, shape, texture and value. Each week students will also be introduced and study an artist from history whose artwork is an example of one or more of these elements of art. Students will then create a drawing based on what they have learned. They will get to explore a variety of art materials to use in their drawings: pencil, charcoal, pastel, colored pencil, watercolor and more. This is a fun class where students learn to draw by using the elements of art.
Rumriver Art Center's main method of communication is email. If you prefer another communication method, please indicate so in the access considerations box in this registration form.
