In this 2-hour hands-on class, you will learn how to prepare 2-3 quick-breads (such as scones and biscuits)
to create variety of shapes, textures, and accompaniments for brunch (if fruits or berries are in season on the farm, we will include them in the class). Get ready to host your own brunch -- perhaps for graduation, a wedding shower, or just a warm hug for a friend.
Chef Mark will
- Give some history on the origins of the featured quick-breads
- Discuss differences between quick-bread dough and other types of bread
- Demonstrate how to make, shape, and bake the doughs, and give tips on successfully creating your own variations
Participants will
- Learn how to make up to three quick-breads, including scones
- Participate in making some components
- Take home what you made and recipes for doing it again
No cooking or baking experience necessary.
Classes are designed for adults. Teens and tweens may attend with a supportive, registered adult.
We will have hot coffee and tea, and cold water available. Feel free to bring nonalcoholic beverages with you.
