WEEK EIGHT August 10th - August 14th: Magic Mischief! Dragons, Potions & Fairies
Dragons and potions and fairies, oh my! This week's theme is for the magic lovers. We're making clay dragons and mushroom fairy homes, some blackout poetry and glowing moon rocks! A whimsical City Night Moon Canvas and some bottles of pixie dust, too. All wizards and muggles are equally welcomed!
Each week of Joe Picasso’s Summer Art Camp includes fun projects like canvas and pottery painting, making mosaics, sculpting with clay, wood and glass projects. We look at classic and contemporary artists for inspiration, and spend time sketching or painting in an art journal each day, too. All of these projects are designed by Katie to encourage creative learning and expression. Every week also has a theme designed to let your child expand their imagination and develop their own artistic style. Campers will engage in 3-4 art projects per day. We start each day with an art journal session where we make sure to teach the campers easy, artsy techniques they can use at home with minimal supplies. Then, we move into the more in depth, fine art projects for each day. Working with mediums like clay, acrylics, mosaics, paper, wood, glass, and others, we create unique projects, we build confidence, and we have fun! On Friday of each week, we take a walk over to Stork's Cafe for our afternoon snack. Campers get to choose 1 sweet treat from the pastry case, courtesy of Joe's.
$500 per camper (+ sales tax) includes all supplies and instruction as well as supervision
