In this 4.5 hour class that you take over 2 sessions, you will learn how to make 4 types of pie crusts, 3-4 types of fillings, and techniques for shaping and decorating pies. You will take home with you the 4 mini-pies you have made and whatever dough you have left over, plus the recipes to do it again yourself.
- Day 1: In this 2-hour session, you will learn how and make 4 pie crust doughs (sucree, brisee, 3-2-1, and flaky). Learn what each crust is best for, and experience the taste and texture with some samples.
- Day 2: In this 2.5 hour session, you will learn how to make 3-4 pie fillings, sweet and savory, including farm fresh sweet potato, apple pie, curried vegetable pie, plus one other. Learn how and shape your four mini-pies, learn crimping and lattice work.
- Take home what you make at the end of session 2, plus any leftover dough you have, and the recipes to do it again yourself.
No cooking experience necessary (Level 1 class).
We will have hot coffee and tea, and cold water available, Feel free to bring nonalcoholic beverages with you.
