In this 8-week course, we’ll both refine and build on the skills you gained in a basic wheel throwing class. Beginning experience throwing on the wheel is required. Class time each week may include demonstrations, work time and constructive feedback. Prior experience with wheel-throwing is required to enroll in this class. The cost of the class includes all necessary materials and tools, such as clay, glazes, firing, and access to discounted open studio sessions.
Part of the process in any class is basic studio etiquette in a shared space. At the end of each class, you will be responsible for cleaning your wheel, shared tools, and workspace. Clay is messy so clip your nails and keep your watches/rings at home. Please bring a towel to wipe your hands and wear an apron/clothes you can get dirty (clay does wash out). A clean studio is a healthy studio as clay dust can build up if not properly cleaned after each session.
