February: Button Sewing
This month we are diving deep into buttons with Kristin M Roach. Learn the difference between machine sewn buttons, button hole sizing, shanks and shankless, and how to finally sew them on so they stay on. The truest of love languages - sewing on a missing button for your friend in need. Or better yet, showing them how to sew on their button right so they stop falling off.

April: Embroidery
An embroidery crash course with Octagon staff member, Theresa Warren! Take time to practice your stitches and maybe learn something new to add to your mending projects.
May: Woven Mending
Join Kristin M Roach for tapestry weaving demos, going over twining, piling, and picking. Explore woven vs. knit structures and maybe adding it to your mending toolbox!

As always, Mending nights are free, or a suggested donation of $5 for instruction, tips -n- tricks.

Have a few mending/repair projects you have been wanting to work on? Gather them up and join the Octagon for some creative, productive, and soulful fun. You are encouraged to bring any projects to work on, i.e... knitting, crochet, needle work, whatever. We will have a special guest, and author of Mend it Better, Kristin Roach, with us for this community gathering. Kristin is also a published author of worldwide knitting patterns, the Craftleftovers zine series, a community organizer, artist, and owner of Little Woods: Herbs and Teas in downtown Ames.
