Intro to Blacksmithing III: Forged Leaf Key-Ring

Using .5” round mild steel bar, students well make a forged leaf key ring. Important skills that beginner students practice in this class include heating parent metal to temperature in the forge, drawing out or tapering metal and using a chisel to create details in their leaf!

Plan Your Visit

All materials and safety equipment supplied.  Students are required to wear closed-toe shoes and long pants to participate.  Natural fiber clothing, such as cotton or denim, and sturdy footwear (e.g. tennis shoes or boots) is recommended. Plan to arrive for class about 10-15 min early and check in at the front desk.  Our main entrance is on State Street, with parking lot entrance on State St. as well. IF parking and street parking available.
