Put a Lid on it!
In this four week class, we’ll explore several methods of adding a lid to a pot. We’ll explore how to throw a lid separately from the pot, and how to measure for a good fit. Also, how to make a lid from a slab, for either round or off-round pots, and how to throw and enclose a pot all at one time. We’ll look at adding knobs and handles to lids for a finished look and functionality.
A good working knowledge of centering and trimming pots is needed for this class.
Included in the cost is everything you need while you are in class: basic pottery tools, buckets, clay and glazes, firing, discounted open studio opportunities.

Please bring a towel to wipe your hands and wear an apron/clothes you can get dirty (clay does wash out).

Part of the process in wheel throwing is basic studio etiquette. Your class time includes not only throwing, but also cleaning your wheel and surrounding floor area and clay tools that were used. Clay is messy - leave your watches and rings at home. A clean studio is a healthy studio as clay dust can build up.
