Troy's brush making workshop includes:
All the materials to make up to five brushes per student. This includes bamboo material for handles, an assortment of materials for ferrules, several different types of hair and natural plant materials for the brush heads, and all the glue and patience necessary to see you through the process.
It's okay, this will be fun!
Troy will share highlights of brush making, how he got started, why he continues to make brushes, and the steps involved in making a brush. Next he will build a brush from start to finish in front of you! Then (the really fun part) he will turn you loose with the materials and work with each participant as needed to help you build your first brush.
Participants are more than welcome to bring their own materials if they wish. Have some horse hair or fur from an animal friend? Bring it along and we can turn it into a brush you can use in your work.
If you apply for any of our discounted prices (Clay Alliance Members $80/Studio Member $75/Student w/ valid School ID $70) please call the studio to register. You must pay over the phone at the time of sign-up.
