Class Description:
Move beyond the store-bought cupcake mix and take your cupcake skills to the next level with this immersive baking and decorating workshop with a fall twist! Your guide is Executive Pastry Chef Catie Wiley, who joins us after a distinguished career as a pastry chef at several iconic patisseries and restaurants on the East Coast.
You'll master the technical skills behind creating two moist, flavorful cupcake batters from scratch: a rich chocolate cake and a buttery vanilla cake. Chef Catie’s time-tested recipes produce perfect results. Chef Catie has a few seasonal surprises of her sleeve too: along with making the vanilla cupcakes, she will teach you how to easily master transforming a basic base recipe into a spice cake with an apple compote filling and jazzing up your chocolate cupcakes for spooky season with "bloody glass" sugar art, and "meringue ghostys". Your creations will be BOOtiful!
Chef Catie will show you how to create two different classic buttercream frosting styles from scratch: a velvety American Buttercream Frosting and light-as-air Swiss Meringue Buttercream Frosting. Of course, the true artistry lies in the decorating! Under Chef Catie's expert guidance, you'll master advanced piping techniques, from delicate rosettes and intricate borders to elaborate designs and embellishments.
By the end of the class, you'll gain the confidence and skills you need to elevate your cupcake baking and decorating to new heights. You'll also take home half a dozen delicious and visually stunning cupcakes, ready for your Halloween festivities!

- We provide a full refund if you need to cancel more than three weeks prior to the start of a scheduled class. You will receive an Account Credit if you need to cancel at any time within three weeks but prior to the class start time. Please note that any refund issued for classes purchased using a Gift Certificate or Account Credit will result in reinstatement of the original Gift Card or Account Credit and will bear the same expiration date. Account Credits issued for cancelations within three weeks of a class will expire one year from the date of issuance. We reserve the right to cancel a class for any reason, at any time, in which case you will receive a full refund.
- This class is for adults 18+. Children 14-17 years old are allowed if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please let us know if you plan to bring a minor.
